You can also try and declare war on the HE's early while your lands are too far away for them to bother with you yet, this will give you some standing with the DE's and possibly keep them non aggressive or give you a potential ally latter. Its the same way i play Chaos and Beastmen and in some ways its easier than those two as Norsca given you have land to come back too if an army gets wiped. but if you can do so long enough you can end up with a couple of armies that can move and support each other that will crush most enemies you encounter.Īlso once people start throwing wars around you can millitary ally up with your other nasty buddies and the shear number of ally armies moving around the Empire and Bretonnia can take the load off you and you can get them to attack places with you which can make the really big sieges ALOT easier. Its tricky but fun, you just have to avoid provoking ie being noticed, by certain factions for as long as possible otherwise you will end up with issues. Once i have Wulfrik/Throg available i basically start a second army with them and move them around together and play sneaky, ill use one just inside an enemies max movement to lure them into an attack retreat then on my turn ill bring both armies up to hit them if they didnt go forced march to move back. The Beastmen shouldnt really fight you, i dont think ive had them go me playing as Throg ever and usually I can get them to be non aggressive and sometimes I can pull em into a war with my enemies with a little cash. Ally with the Vamps and the Orcs if you can for the same reason they take land you raze and it just means one less hostile army in the area to worry about. Same goes for Bretonnia, they tend to ignore you until you meet them, which is why alot of people go hit the Brets first then Empire (they are also easier to a degree), i personally hit the Dwarves nearby first then deal wtih Kislev given the Empire tends to take a while to get its act together but you have to deal with Kislev fairly fast or they can become a pain and wipe out allies in that area.Īlly up with Clan Moulder, they will be pretty willing and make a good Empire cant resettle option, same with Ikit and the Brets. when they start they wont stop and you'll need some sort of army their to deal with their constant incursions. they basically act as a buffer to the HE's if you take that land expect the HE's to notice you fairly soon afterwards and they will start to sail on over. (even the little island near norsca required 2 of the corruption buildings to keep it from removing choas from itself reason.)Ĭonquer your neighbouring tribe then stop. But even if I do take an outpost, the slow spread of corruption means it has horrendous public order. It's a shame because I really like the idea of playing a viking horde sacking a pillaging their way. I'm not sure what I can do other than spend a million turns defending and losing the same 6 or so settlements until the enemy gets strong enough to out do my limited units. Though one time I tried keeping one alive as a shield but it didn't seem to help.īut the trouble starts when all the high elves declare war, then some dark elves, and all start sending stacks because they seemingly have nothing better to do, even though it takes them 5 turns to get to me. And rather than having fun raiding or expanding, the negative to diplomacy (-40 with pretty much everyone, get great power and you're at another -15) means you spend the whole time in horrid Defensive wars over your spread out starting area.Īll the norscans delcare war which is kinda fun to start, managed to conker all the tribes by turn 10 or so. I've been trying to play Norsca and seem to be they just end up in a lot of trouble real quick.Įvery campaign seems to just be having almost everyone declares war at me.
